Like a musical, it's the subtleties that really "stand out without standing out"~ Your smoky, aqua background textures, and your soft highlights (particularly on the top of his hair). Really a very ethereal result. Nice show of motion, too, in the way the sleeves/necklace flow~ The eyes look very Miyazaki....

You said that you learned a few things working on this~ now I'm curious!

I think as far as those arms go, it's really just a matter of making them look 3-D. Ditto on hands~ and since hands and eyes are the "most expressive" of our features, it makes sense that understanding them takes time! Anatomy will come, but it'll come with practice....repetition........really, you're memorizing HOW that complex spider of bones and muscles (aka. a hand) will look when it balls up....hangs this way.....crumples that way......because you'll find that generally all hands keep to these rules.

To keep from getting bored, find shots that you find EXCITING, and draw 'em! Calvin Klein ads are great refs for graceful, long-limbed poses........for muscles being used in different ways, try Googling gymnasts, or singers (yup, the oft-shirtless kind~ "I'm practicing anatomy, I swear!!" ) There's no shortage. You've got a great (and I do mean great) eye.......and your imagination is something deep, fantastical and from the Creator Himself. You've got a great
